Jason has been involved in the health and fitness industry for more than 30 years. He has over 35,000 hours of experience as a graduate qualified personal trainer on both sides of the Atlantic.

He started working in a corporate environment for a New York based company managing the health and wellness for many top executives. Since then he has overseen the training for National athletes and teams, writing articles for many national journals, established and implemented exercise procedures for individuals with severe clinical conditions, both privately and for large medical institutions.

In 2004 Jason formed the Better Body Shop to replicate the level of skill and service he had experienced in the top end US health and fitness companies.  Now in 2016 this evolved into the Better Body Group one of the countries largest dedicated personal training centres.  Still standing by its ethos of only recruiting and developing sport and exercise graduates to ensure an exceptional level of service regardless of a client’s age weight or medical condition.

What does the future hold for Jason?  In his own words “It is now time to raise the standard of personal training in the UK.  To share nationally with sports and exercise graduates the knowledge gained from 25 years of building on a degree based education to provide the level of personal training clients truly need.”  Jason now intends to make the career path of a Graduate Qualified Personal Trainer a true reality and available to more than just the trainers within his Better Body Group.

Jason’s Background:

Jason comes from a strength and conditioning background, having spent many years as a power lifter and a Judo player. He still draws satisfaction from seeing people make physical improvements that significantly improve their lives, achieving levels of fitness they never believed possible.

Jason has gained all the relevant qualifications in the health and exercise field following completing his Honour’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Brighton. Attaining qualifications with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, The American College of Sports Medicine and taking a position as a lecturer with The University of Kent Sports Science Department.

Christina Moore



Christina studied at the University of Kent and Graduated with a First Class (Hons) Degree in Sports Therapy. Since starting with The Better Body Group in 2014 she has learnt new techniques to treat and improve injury’s and pain.

Christina has specific knowledge and interest in musculoskeletal injury diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. If you have any aches and pains or more serious injuries she is happy to help in any way with general advice on self-management and training.

Having competed nationally as a gymnast for several years up to the age of fifteen and from there on training and competing nationally and internationally representing Blackheath and Bromley and Kent County in the pole vault, Christina has a lot of personal experience in various training methods. She understands the demands of exercise on the human body and is able to adapt to your individual needs.

Christina has experienced a lot of the challenges that come with regular training but is energetic and enthusiastic to keep you motivated on your journey to achieving your goals and will always welcome success and positive change.

Rebecca Collingwood


Exercise Specialist 

We’re pleased to introduce Rebecca Collingwood, one of our newest recruits. Rebecca graduated from the University of Kent in 2014, bringing a degree in Sports Therapy with her to Team BBG as well as her passion for helping others improve their health and quality of life.

As her field of study suggests, Rebecca is a specialist in injury recovery and rehabilitation. She wants to make sure that all our clients are given the opportunity to be the best they can be physically, a sentiment we certainly share! So whether this is achieved through the use of therapeutic techniques, psychological help, nutritional advice or a tailored training programme, you’ll find Rebecca fully committed to getting you back to a normal range of motion, completely pain free. She’ll also tutor you in techniques that will help you slip back into your lifestyle without hindrance and without reoccurring injury.

Rebecca has participated in a multitude of sports over the years, but her true love has always been for swimming. She has dedicated many years to both competing and coaching others. This has given her a solid foundation for entry into Team BBG, providing a real understanding of the levels of commitment and determination needed to perform at your best. She also understands every client and situation is different, and her training and advice will always reflect this. So whether you’re looking for an enthusiastic trainer to lay down some goal-achieving challenges or an injury specialist to get you back in the game, we thoroughly recommend you look to Rebecca for your next session!

Jimmy Sykes

BSc, MSc

Exercise Specialist 

Stemming from an Army background, Jimmy attended a military boarding school where sport and exercise became a primary focus of his life. Playing rugby dominated the majority of Jimmy’ years through school and university, as well as running cross country, gymnastic, trampolining, skiing, and more recently, cycling, which has led to Jimmy raising thousands of pounds for Cancer charities through a number of single day and multiple day cycles across the UK and France.

Jimmy gained his BSc and MSc from the University of Portsmouth, with a focus on elite athlete development. While studying he trained a variety of athletes in a multitude of sports, including training young developing gymnasts, university rugby players and disabled adult track and field athletes. Jimmy has also expanded his toolbox with rehabilitation and sport therapy training and currently works as head physio for a semi-professional football team in Hampshire. Jimmy is also a qualified sports massage therapist, a supplement to any training package he offers.

His varied experience has enabled Jimmy to absorb knowledge from many different exercise settings. His friendly, easy-going approach will make anyone feel at ease in their efforts to become healthier, stronger and/or pain free. Whether you are recovering from an injury, looking to shift your health up a gear, or fine tune your body to optimize performance, Jimmy is your man.

Carla Joseph


Rehabilitation Specialist 

Carla’s passion lies in rehabilitation. Since graduating in Sports Rehabilitation from St. Mary’s University, Twickenham she has been the Physiotherapist at a chiropractic clinic and for Fulham Football Club’s development squad and academy.  She has a real passion for correcting sports injuries and improving posture and will use these skills to influence your physical capability whilst working towards your goals.

Carla works closely with those looking to maintain a healthy weight and fitness level whilst managing an injury/illness. After all, it’s important not to let your rehabilitation prevent you making progress in other areas of your health.

Jack Wellard

BSc Hons

Rehabilitation Specialist 

Jack has recently joined the BBG team, having graduated from the University of Chichester where he studied BSc Sports Therapy. Since graduating he has worked for a semi professional football team as their lead therapist. Jack brings a bubbly personality and fantastic attitude to the BBG team; you will notice his presence around the gym and during your time when training with him. His passion lies with helping his clients get back to their optimal physical abilities whilst ensuring they are pain free through the use of specific treatment techniques, massage, tailored rehabilitation programs or dietary requirements.

Throughout Jack’s university degree he has become a specialist in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of injuries. The skills he developed have allowed him to adapt to each individuals needs and requirements, so no matter what your injury or how serious it may be he will be fully committed to you personally.  Your session with Jack will not just finish in the gym as he will be able to give you home exercises and advice on maintaining a pain free lifestyle.

Jack has experienced many injuries on a personal level, which resulted in weight gain and poor physical capabilities so he understands how difficult times can get but with his fantastic knowledge and positive easy going attitude you can be assured that the hard times will not feel hard anymore.
